It is with a very sad and heavy heart that we write this post for our bloggie. Our Mommy got the news last week that our Angie is in stage 3 of kidney disease. Our wonderful vet, Dr. Julie, told our Mommy to consider each day with Angie as a blessing and to enjoy every minute that we have with her. Needless to say, our Mommy is devastated ~ especially since we just lost our S'More last June. Angie is doing okay for the moment, and we will try to keep you updated on her condition.

Our Mommy, Karen, has been spending lots of time on something called Facebook...so if any of our kitty blogging friends are on Facebook, please look her up under her full name: Karen Davenport (and we live in Michigan).

Happy Monday Efurryone!

It was kind of an uneventful weekend here at the Kitty Hut. Saturday was kind of sad for Mommy. She went to the v-e-t-s office to pick up Rocky's food - she had not been back there since S'more went to the Rainbow Bridge. Mommy said she did okay until it came time to leave and then she burst into tears.... We told her not to worry, it has only been three weeks since S'moresy left for Heaven, and sometimes these things take a long time to heal.

We tried to cheer her up by doing lots of crazy things this weekend - Rocky found a really good hidey spot and refused to come out when Mommy called him. We think she got kinda scairty, cuz she ran and got a can of food and popped the top to see if he would answer to that - he did!

Then, we left her a couple of hairballs on the floors, and refused to eat our foods at dinner time - we keep telling her we only like Fancy Feast, but she won't listen to us! We are trying our best to keep her busy, and we think our plans are working..hehehe!

Hi Efurryone,

It's me, Angie! Mommy was so excited yesterday, because the President was in town to give a speech at a local community college. She was hoping she would get an invitation to go (some of her coworkers did!), but alas, no such luck. The closest she got was seeing alot of police officers blocking lots of entrances and exits to the freeway by our house! Don't worry, Mommy, we're pretty sure he'll be back to visit another time!

Angie here ~ I wanted to let efurryone know what my new favorite stinky goodness is! My Mommy just started buying Purina Pro Plan Selects - and I love them! I used to be a Fancy Feast girl, but have now switched over to this new, yummy stinky goodness! I am SUPPOSED to be eating Hill's k/d canned and dry food - but I only like the dry food of that variety. Mommy has tried and tried to give me the Hill's k/d canned, but I just refuse to eat it - which makes Mommy completely crazy...hehehe......

Hi All!
We hope efurryone is having a good weekend so far. We received a beautiful memorial from our vet's office yesterday in honor of S'more. Included in the memorial: One beautiful white rose with baby's breath, a clay imprint of one of S'more's paws, a clipping of her fur, and a lovely note from our vet, Dr. Julie. What a wonderful keepsake for remembering our sweet, little S'more!

Hello Efurryone,
Angie here ~ we hope everyone is well on this Friday. It has been a tough week here at the Kitty Hut. Please accept our heartfelt thanks for all of your kind thoughts and words for the loss of our dear, little S'more. Mommy wants everyone to know how much it means to her that so many people care. She also wants to correct the dates of S'more's life. She was so upset when she wrote that post, she put the wrong dates on it! S'more was 10 years old, so it should have read: 5/15/99 - 6/30/09.

We would also like to apologize for not posting very much on our bloggie. The last 1 1/2 - 2 years have been very tough for our Mommy. There was a very real threat that she would be laid off from work. She has been working her full-time job, and two part-time bookkeeping jobs since 2007, and it's taken a toll on her. Unfortunately, when Mommy gets sad or worried about stuff, she doesn't want to do fun things like work on our bloggie. Rocky and I are working on her, and we hope to correct this problem!

The good news is, Mommy has a lot of faith and is very resilient. She knows that there's a "bottom" to all of this somewhere, and eventually things will start looking up. We love all of you dearly, and we thank you for not forgetting about us.

Hello Dear Friends,
Our precious little Tortie angel, S'more, went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. We are so sorry this post is a day late, but Mommy tried so hard to write it yesterday, but she couldn't do it.

Our little S'more's kidneys were failing her, and she had become very ill. She had stopped eating, drinking, and could barely stand or walk. We know she is in a much happier, healthier place now, and for that we are very grateful. We were so blessed to have her for the short time we did. We will love her and miss her forever.

Hi Efurryone!
It's me, Angie, and today is my 14th birthday! When Mommy gets home from work tonight, she said we are gonna to have tuna (yippee!) and a new, special treatie. The new treatie is called "Party Mix" from Friskies. I like most any treat, but my most favorite is Whisker Lickins from Purina.

On a more serious note, I would like to ask efurryone if they could stop by and visit Billie at Twilight's Muse. She is not feeling very well right now and her Mommy is very worried about her. We are sending her lots of purrs and huggies and we hope she feels better very soon!

It's me S'moresy :) We hope all kitties and beans had a wonderful weekend! Our Mommy is coming up with a schedule of what she wants to post about everyday - hopefully this will help us in posting more regularly! :)

Technically, today's post would fall under Mancat Monday - but I'm gonna let my brother be a blog hog just this once! It seems that my crazy brother, Rocky, likes honeydew melon! After Mommy got done doing some of her evening "stuff" - like getting us our Fancy Feasties, packing her lunch for work, etc., she got out a container of honeydew melon to nosh on. Well, she stepped out of the kitchen for just a second to look at something on TV.....and the next thing we heard was a big crash, silverware hitting the floor, etc. When Mommy got to the kitchen, there was ROCKY doing the noshing on Mommy's honeydew melon! Hehehehe...looks like Mommy will be heading back to the fruit market for more honeydew....... :)

It's me Rocky and I'm hanging out on top of our refridgerator! Not too long after coming to live with my Mommy and sisters, I figured out how to jump up onto our stove and then hop up onto the top of the fridge. I love it up here - it allows me to survey all the goings on in our kitchen. This comes in very handy - especially when Mommy is preparing our Fancy Feasties for us!

This past weekend here in southeastern Michigan was a big weekend for boaters. It was the weekend for the annual Port Huron to Mackinac Sailboat Race. The weekend kicks off with a big celebration on Friday evening called "Boat Night". This is a picture of our "not of our species" cousin Abby, watching all the festivities from her boat....er, her Dad's boat, actually! She looks like she's having lots of fun. Somehow, we kitties don't think we would like boats too much....we're sure they are pretty darn scairty!!

Hi Efurryone!
We missed all of you! So sorry we have not posted on our bloggie for a while (Bad Mommy!) We have so much to catch efurryone up on.....

First, Angie hadded her annual v-e-t appointment last Saturday. They did all kinds of terrible things to her - bloodwork, shots, toe nail trim, butt squeezing (eeeeuuwww!!) Boy, was she mad after that!!!! When Dr. Julie (our v-e-t) gotted her bloodwork back, it showed that Angie's kidney "values" are creeping up a little bit. They are still within the normal range, but Dr. Julie decided to put her on some special foods. It's called Hill's Prescription Diet k/d. Angie gets to have canned foods and dry! She especially liked the canned - 'acause it's chicken flavor! Other than that, Dr. Julie says that Angie looks great and is doing very well! Now, Mommy has to pick her next v-e-t visitor......hmmmm, Rocky or S'more.........

Speaking of Rocky and S'more.......you guys will never guess what happened! Mommy was sitting in the living room on Sunday afternoon. All of a sudden she hears S'more hissing and yelling and making a big ruckus! Of course, the first thing Mommy saided was..."Rocky, what are you doing?" (hehehehe) Well, much to Mommy's surprise and amazement, Rocky had our little S'more cornered and was...ahem....attempting to do "what comes naturally" with her!! Mommy couldn't believe it! Since we have all had our hoo-ha-hectomies, Mommy was a little confused by the whole thing. (Mommy you are such a dork!) After checking into this on the internets, she figured out that Rocky was exhibiting dominating behavior.....and not, er, something else......

S'more was tagged for a meme by the beautiful Zuzu at Annazu and she will be posting about that very shortly. We would also like to say a special hello to Sammy and Miles Meezer and their sweet little brother Billy for checking in on us. We is okay - just going totally cuckoo!!!

LOSING KITTIES AND BEANS

Hello Efurryone,

We would like to apologize for not posting our tribute to Stormie until today, but Mommy has been having a hard time dealing with the recent losses we've had in the cat blogosphere world. She just wasn't able to write a post for dear little Stormie yesterday and wanted to wait until today, when she felt better.

Darling little Stormie, you certainly did win, sweetheart. We know you are enjoying the bright sunshine and lush green fields at the Rainbow Bridge. Until you and your wonderful family meet again, we know you will watch over them and be their guardian angel.

Mommy also wanted to post a bit about the passing yesterday of Tim Russert from NBC News. What a shock and sad loss for his family, coworkers, and the country as a whole. Mr. Russert seemed like such a nice man - devoted to his faith, family, and his profession. Godspeed, Mr. Russert. The angels have added a new member to their ranks.

TORTIE TUESDAY - THINGS WE LIKE

Our little S'more has a skin condition called Feline Miliary Dermatitis. This can be caused by a number of things from an allergic reaction to flea bites - or other types of allergies - to an autoimmune deficiency. In S'more's case, her tests for parasitic infestation came back negative, so the v-e-t believes it is a deficiency in Omega 3 Fatty Acids in her diet.

Mommy discovered the problem when she noticed red blotches all over her back and a significant loss of her fur in these affected areas. Mommy said it reminded her of Mange that woofies get. The v-e-t prescribed some antibiotics (in case there was any type of infection going on) and also 3V Caps in liquid (oil) form. It is loaded with Omega 3 fatty acids and has done wonders for S'more's skin and coat. Mommy puts a couple of drops in her food in the morning and at night. S'moresy will probably have take this for the rest of her life - we don't think she minds, though, 'acause it tastes just like fish! How yummy!

Hi Efurryone ~ Our friends at Zoolatry made this beautiful picture of our friend Dandelion who went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. Dandelion was the older brother of Muddy and Myst over at BloggingCat.com.

Today our Mommy is remembering her Mommy who went to Heaven 25 years ago today. Our Mommy was just 20 years old when Grammy passed away and she says she is amazed at how quickly the time has passed! We think we need to sit on Mommy today and give her lots of purrs and kitty kissies!

S'MORE: Hi Efurryone! Today I would like to post about a "condition" that the v-e-t told my Mommy I have. It's called "stray cat syndrome". For a long time after my Mommy adopted me, I would gobble all my foods down really fast and then throw everything back up into my bowl! BLECH!!! Then I would look around the house for more foods to eat. Also, if Mommy would move my food bowls and placemat, I would get very upset and tell her all about it! I'm happy to report that I am MUCH better now, and will actually leave foods in my bowl. I guess I realized that Mommy was always going to feed me, love me and give me a happy home! Yay!

Hi Efurryone ~ it's me Angie! First of all, I would like to thank Maggie and Zoey at Zoolatry for the wonderful award they gave us! It's our very first award in the cat blogosphere and we are soooooo excited!!

I look a little cranky in this picture 'acause I had a traumatic day yesterday! My Mommy tookded me to the v-e-t and they did all kinds of terrible things to me!

First, they trimmed my toenails. If that wasn't bad enough, then they violated my private area!! I got so upset, I had to have a "time out" in my kitty carrier until I calmed down. Boy, is my bum sore today!!! I'm gonna take it easy and relax today for sure!

For today's post we wanted to share some things that we are thankful for that will help you to get to know us better:

ROCKY:

I am thankful that Mommy adopted me ~ even after I whapped her on the face so hard her glasses flew off! And that was the first time we met! The second time she came to visit me, I put the bitey on her! I iz sorry Mommy - I wasn't very happy living at the v-e-t-'s office.

I'm thankful for a comfy place to sleep and for always having foods in my tummy. Before my Mommy adopted me, I was thrown out into an apartment complex when my people moved. I was very scared and I didn't have foods for awhile. A nice lady founded me and took me to the v-e-t-'s office where I stayed for a long time. Then one day, after seeing me online, my Mommy came in to meet me. I curled up on her lap and started kissing her hand ~ we have been bestest friends ever since!

Those are very nice stories, Rocky and S'more. Since I am a senior citizen, I am most thankful to be the queen bee of our house. This means I get to do crazy things like paw at the door on Mommy's metal file cabinet (which makes a loud, horrendous noise!) in the middle of the night so she will get up and give me Temptations...........hehehehehehe

Our Very First Post - Yippee!

Hi Efurryone!
Rocky, Angie, & S'more here ~ and this is our very first post in the cat blogosphere! WOO HOO! Our mommy felt so bad that we didn't have our very own blog, she finally decided to give this a try and start one up for us!

We hope everyone is having a good day ~ we was all in our normal sleeping spots when mommy left for work this morning ~ except for Angie, who walks mommy to the door each morning and sees her off to work!

We will post more shortly ~ as soon as mommy figures out how all this stuff works!
